Since the 1860's Danish children of all ages have played with puppet theatres. The tradition of puppet theatre in this style is an important part of the Danish theatrical heritage. The museum collections include numerous examples of Danish and other European theatre productions from the late 1800s. Everything from set designs as well as characters portrayed in the different plays are cut our from heavy cardboard material and colorfully painted.
