Room and form – Robert Jacobsen 100 years

Due to Robert Jacobsen’s 100thbirthday, KUNSTEN now present, as the only museum in Denmark, a big, retrospective exhibition with over 200 of his works, from the early wood sculpture in the 1930ish to the latest iron sculptures that was made just before his death in 1993. Also his works on paper and linens can be seen on this exhibition. Besides this, the exhibition also shows a wide range of so far unknown sculptures. “Room and form – Robert Jacobsen 100 years” takes you all the way around this unique Danish artist.

Robert Jacobsen is one of Denmark’s most important artists and he goes through life between two opposites. On one side, he worked with strict lines with his international famous iron sculptures and on the other side he never really did let go of his young year’s experiments with fantasy figures, which never got the same recognition.

The exhibition is the first big exhibition that focuses on Robert Jacobsen’s whole lifework.
