The GL STRAND Art Gallery has had a solid reputation for ground-breaking exhibitions of Danish and international art for the past 180 years. The gallery focuses on predicting future trends and offers a new perspective on modern contemporary art. This innovative approach was originally employed by Eckersberg, who, in 1825, founded the art society with the intention of provoking a debate and setting a new agenda for cultural politics. GL STRAND is chiefly concerned with exhibiting and representing artists and their works at the 6-8 annual exhibitions and has an unshakeable determination to provide up-coming artists with a platform. The gallery has been graced with visits by many artistic heavyweights including Per Kirkeby, Lars von Trier, Tony Oursler, and Olafur Eliasson.
