Camping Pass

Camping Key EuropeTo stay at an approved camping sites you must have a valid camping pass, called Camping Key Europe. If one does not have a camping pass already, it can be ordered on arrival at the first camping site on presentation of documentation. The card is a plastic-card-style card which can be used for several years. On the front, name, address, date of birth, passport or ID number is embossed (for visitors outside the Nordic Passport Union). This information is also contained in the magnetic strip on the rear of the card, enabling a quick check-in at the site. If you do not have a valid camping card already, it can be ordered either at the first camping site you visit or at the approved local tourist office, where renewal also takes place by purchasing a valid year stamp. Renewal covers one full year. You can also buy the Camping Key Europe online on the homepage of The Danish Camping Board. 

The Camping pass is valid in Europe and costs DKK 110. The Camping pass covers both singles and couples with residential (same abode) children under 18 years.  

Groups
Groups also pay DKK 110 for their camping pass, which covers at least 5 and at the most 11 persons travelling together. The leader of the group must be at least 18 years. The pass must be presented with a list of the names of all participants.

Transit pass
For a single overnight stay, a transit pass can be bought at a price of DKK 35.
The transit pass can only be be used in Denmark.

The international camping card
The card is issued in the home country by an organisation which is a member of one of the international organisations FICC, FIA or AIT.

Flagrant cases of violation of the camping regulations may result in confiscation of the camping pass.
