The Danehof Festival 2024 kicks off this Friday! You will find Friday's festive programme below.

Danehof 2024 is over. You can see the program for 2024 below, while we eagerly await the program for 2025.

Play & Camp on Nyborg Ramparts              

14.00-19.00: Activities and stalls are open
Play and learn lots of exciting experiences from the Middle Ages.

14.00-19.00: Archery and crossbow shooting
Test your skills on the bow and the crossbow - how well can you hit the target?
Price: DKK 20 per person.

14.00-19.00: The Warriors' Camp
Experience the exciting camp life and listen to stories about war and everyday life in the Middle Ages.

 

Borgmestergården

10.00-19.00: Borgmestergården (the Mayor's Residence) is open
Visit the museum giftshop or browse through the special exhibition 'Christian 2. – Accursed Childhood'.

14.00-19.00: Children's Treasure Hunt
Find a Danehof Treasure map and do your best to solve all the tasks. The more you can solve, the more gold coins you can collect at Borgmestergården!

14.00-14.30: Juggling with Maximus Heratikus
Come and see the Medieval court joker, Maximus Heraticus' pranks and juggling.

15.30-16.00: Funny tales with Mikkel Langbue
The storyteller Mikkel Langbue entertains children and childish souls with mad medieval tales in the courtyard of the Mayor's Residence.

17.00-17.15: Danehof dance for all
Take a spin and dance along in the Danehof dance at the Mayor's Residence.

 

Tournament Square

15.00-15.30: Impressive show with flag throwers from Italy
Experience the Italian troupe SBANDIERATORI di SANSEPOLCRO perform a historical discipline that was used in military contexts in the Middle Ages. There is free access to the disabled grandstand.

16.30-17.00: Play at the Town Square
The procession ends at the Tournament Square and Christian 2. welcomes and tells about this year's Danehof.

17.00-19.00: Horse carriage ride in the medieval Nyborg
Experience Nyborg from a horse-drawn carriage. Ticket price: DKK 25 per person.

17.30-18.00: Knight Show
Witness the extravagant knights perform an equestrian show, while gaining insights into the life of a medieval knight. There is free access to the disabled grandstand.

18.30-18.45: Danehof dance for all
Take a spin and dance along in the Danehof dance at the Tournament Square.

 

The Bards' Square

14.00-19.00: Danelounge opens up the universe of imagination at Nyborg Library
Read and immerse yourself in the mythical universes of the Middle Ages when Nyborg Library offers exciting exhibitions with a fantasy theme.

14:00-19:00: Play the ancient games from the Middle Ages.
In Nyborg Library's backyard, there will be a jockey track and old games from the Middle Ages

14.00-19.00: Children's Treasure Hunt
Find a Danehof Treasure map and do your best to solve all the tasks. The more you can solve, the more gold coins you can collect at Borgmestergården!

14.00-19.00: Open Workshops – Coat of Arms and Amulet Chains
Create a personal coat of arms with magical protective signs and your own magical amulet chains. Location: In front of Nyborg Library.

The storyteller Mikkel Langbue entertains children and childish souls with mad medieval tales on the Bards' Square.

15.30-16.00: Juggling with Maximus Heratikus

Dive into the world of jesters with Snake Height, which brings together professional circus props and homemade juggling props in a unique experience where you can try to become a real medieval juggler yourself.

20.00-20.30: Music from the Middle Ages
The 4 bards from Moro travel from town to town, collecting stories and legends. When they take the stage you are guaranteed a blast.

The Market Town and Castle Market

10.00-18.00: The town's shops are open
Explore the many shops in the city and taste all the unique Danehof specialties.

14.00-19.00: The market stalls in Slotsgade are open

16.00-16.30: Grand Parade
King Christian II and Queen Elisabeth have arrived at the Danehof in Nyborg, and go in procession through the city to show their pomp and splendor and to greet the citizens of the city.

 

Food Market

14.00-19.00: The food area is open
Experience the food area and explore the many exciting food stalls. Here you will find popcorn, soft ice, churros, coffee and cake, savory pancakes, roasted pork sandwiches, sausages and many other delicious things.

14.00-14.30: Music from the Middle Ages
The 4 bards from Moro travel from town to town, collecting stories and legends. When they take the stage you are guaranteed a blast.

17.00-17.30: Flaming Fire Show
Experience Snake Heights' signature fire show where the firebender masters flaming fire wands, dragon wands, fire spears and fire cones with precision and elegance.

18.00-18.30: Music from the Middle Ages
The 4 bards from Moro travel from town to town, collecting stories and legends. When they take the stage you are guaranteed a blast.

 

Vor Frue Church

18.30-19.30: Historical Pub Crawl
Take a trip around the city's backyards and the church's basement and get the story of the medieval interaction between church, merchant and king. Beer and dram from the King’s Pantry will be served on the trip.

20.00-21.00: Historical Pub Crawl

Danehof at Nyborg Castle

In the Middle Ages, the Danish king met with his parliament, Danehoffet, in Nyborg. Now Nyborg is holding the Danehof again. The town buzzes with life, just as it did when the king and his men met for the Danehof. There will be longships, processions, battles, stalls, culinary delights, music and entertainment for children and adults alike all weekend.

There is a first aid tent with a defibrillator on Slotsgade. The first aiders can be contacted on tel. +45 2395 4207.
