Randers Fjords Ferries

Even if there is not far from shore to shore, you will find that Randers Fjord has no less than two ferries sailing across - every ten minutes! One of them sails between Mellerup and Voer - the other one you will find at the harbors at Udbyhøj North (Udbyhøj Nord) and Udbyhøj South (Udbyhøj Syd).

Udbyhøj Cable Ferry

Between the two harbours, Udbyhøj North and Udbyhøj South, where Randers Fjord flow into Kattegat, you'll find the Udbyhøj Cable Ferry - the only pulled cable ferry in Denmark, built in 2006. The cable ferry is designed after Swedish tradtions as an open, double-ended ferry, meaning that it has a through-going deck and bascule in both ends.

During the four-minute ride, you have the grand view of the fjord, the wide salt meadows, and if you're lucky, you'll see seals and harbour porpoises.

The ferry holds up to 12 cars and 98 passengers, and is part of the North Sea Trail.

The ferry sails all year (except 5 days in March, where it's closed for maintenance purposes).

Check out the timetables for both ferries here
