Spirits Inspired by Bornholm

At Bornholm Distillery in Rønne, inspiration travels directly from the landscapes of Bornholm into the bottle. The island’s dramatic cliffs, forests and coastal scenery provide the foundation for the spirits developed and distilled in the historic surroundings of the former slaughterhouse next to Torvehal Bornholm.

Behind the distillery is Bornholm native Martin Kofoed, who has been working since 2017 to revive the island’s long-standing traditions of spirit production. Some of the ingredients are gathered from Bornholm’s own landscapes, including juniper berries from Slotslyngen in northern Bornholm, which are used in the distillery’s gin.

A visit to Bornholm Distillery offers an opportunity to discover the flavours, ingredients and landscapes that have inspired its spirits and helped shape Bornholm for generations.
