The beach ‘Den Permanente’ (English: The Permanent) is by far the most popular beach in Aarhus, and it is only a 10-minute bike ride from the city centre. Here you will find lifeguards during the summer, changing rooms, toilet facilities, and a refreshment kiosk.
Outside the area of the bathing club there are barbecues and places for bonfires, and this is frequently used by the young people from the city in the beautiful, bright summer nights.
Den Permanente is an outdoor swimming bath placed at the beach of Riis Skov (Riis Forest) and it has separate departments for Ladies and Gents, with a sandy beach for all people.
The beach is currently closed for public use. It will be open for public use during the summer.
Den Permanente is designated as a Blue Flag 2020 beach.
Along the coast north and south of Aarhus you can find some of the country's best beaches.
