What did people listen to 400 years ago? In this concert, Victoria (voice/recorder) and Tomas (theorbo/lute) take the audience on a journey back in time with music from the 17th and 18th centuries. The programme includes songs from castles and mountain farms, from wistful lullabies to theatrical mad songs. Victoria Oftestad (born 1999) is a Norwegian singer and recorder player who builds bridges between folk music and early music musically, historically and theatrically. She is known for energetic and striking stage performances that offer the audience, especially those in the front row, a very intimate experience. As a soloist, Victoria has performed with Orchestra of the 18th Century in The Hague, Bangkok Bach Players, Camerata Laranjeiras in Rio de Janeiro, Terjung Ensemble and at Oslo Early. Tomas Laukvik Nannestad (born 1998) is a Norwegian guitarist and lute player. He is active as a multi-instrumentalist with Ensemble Koryfe, KRÆKK, Bislet Barokk, Ensemble Lime and Barokkanerne, and collaborates with Norwegian and international composers. His main focus is baroque music, contemporary music and folk music. Tomas is currently a PhD fellow at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
