What began as a private regatta for a group of shipowners has over the years become the 'maritime industry gathering of the year' and on the last Saturday in August, Peter Gast Shipping organises their traditional regatta in Ærøskøbing.
Around 100 large, beautiful ships will race from Schleimunde in Germany on Saturday morning and arrive at the old harbour in Ærøskøbing in the early afternoon.
Later, there will be musical entertainment and a parade with Peder Most Garden through Ærøskøbing.
Sunday morning there is a departure from Ærøskøbing and it is an experience to see the beautiful ships heading out into the South Funen Archipelago.
