Tuemosegård

Tuemosegård is a 42-hectare farm in South Zealand. Here, the family works with crop farming, wine production, beekeeping and a farm shop, among other activities.

Crop farming: Grass seed, clover, rapeseed and grain are among the farm’s crops. Various technologies and methods are used in the cultivation of the crops.

Vineyard: The vineyard consists of 2,200 vines, and the annual production is approximately 3,000 bottles of wine. Tuemosegård follows a number of methods in its production, including:

• No fertilisers are used.

• No pesticides are used.

• No enzymes, fining agents or egg whites are used during the fermentation process. The wine yeast is GMO- and gluten-free.

• The wine is not filtered.

• Sulphite is used for preservation during bottling.

• Mechanical pumping is limited as much as possible. Instead, the wine flows from tank to tank using gravity.

• Each bottle is handled several times before the wine is finished and released for sale.

• Tuemosegård is authorised by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevarestyrelsen) to sell the wine as varietal wine and use the BGB designation, Protected Geographical Indication.

• Tuemosegård is a member of the Danish Winegrowers Association (Foreningen Danske Vinavlere) and uses the HACCP production code, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point.

• The farm is authorised by the Danish tax authority SKAT to collect and settle duties on the sale of wine, and therefore a tax band is not required.

Beekeeping: The bees play an important role on the farm, including in the pollination of clover. Honey and beeswax are also part of the production at Tuemosegård.

Tuemosegård: The family behind Tuemosegård lives by the idea of “less is more”, which has followed both the parents and their four children throughout their lives.
