Art exhibition in the Lock

Kunst i Slusen is an annual, inspiring art exhibition that takes place in the unique setting beneath the drainage lock in Hvide Sande. This distinctive event brings art out of traditional polished gallery spaces and into the summer landscape of the West Coast – specifically into the 120-meter maneuvering corridor that houses the lock's wire winches inside the lock structure itself.

True to tradition, the exhibition opens the first weekend of August. The lock structure, with its 14 massive gates in a row, creates a dramatic framework for the art with its engineered functionality, adding an unusual, eye-opening context to the displayed works.

As in previous years, this year's exhibiting artists have local connections. The exhibition strongly relates to the surroundings, the weather, and human life on the West Coast, and is absolutely worth a visit.
