At Bornholms Middelaldercenter, history comes alive for both children and adults. Explore farm animals, a working watermill, small rural houses and an impressive fortified manor with towers, palisades and wall paintings – all surrounded by a very special medieval atmosphere.

Throughout the site, you will meet interpreters in authentic medieval clothing, who tell stories about life on Bornholm in the Middle Ages and invite guests to experience the everyday crafts, stories and activities of the period. Every day, the centre offers free guided tours and live interpretation, making the visit both entertaining and educational.

Bornholms Middelaldercenter is especially popular with families, and throughout the day there are plenty of activities where children and adults can take part. You can try archery, mint your own medieval coin, work with clay at the potter’s workshop, or experience the firing of a medieval cannon and hand cannon.

Children can meet goats, rabbits, sheep and geese, hear pirate stories, sing medieval songs or join fun family activities around the site. During the high season, the area is buzzing with even more interpreters, activities and experiences, making it easy to immerse yourself in the world of the Middle Ages.
