BROEN Christmas NightRun

Experience Esbjerg's Christmas lights at BROEN Christmas NightRun on Wednesday, December 2, 2026. The run starts and finishes at the top of BROEN Shopping, and the route takes you both inside the shopping center and through Esbjerg's streets, lit by Christmas lights and streetlights. The evening welcomes both runners and walkers looking for exercise and a sense of community.

Santa Claus starts the race. There are free Christmas festivities, as well as Christmas-themed neck gaiters or Santa hats for all participants. Children up to and including age 12 receive medals.

Distances and schedule

Choose between a 5 km run, a 5 km walk and the 1.6 km Familie-milen. The meeting point is BROEN Shopping, Exnersgade 18, 6700 Esbjerg.

• 3:00–5:00 PM: Race bib collection at the start on race day.
• 5:30 PM: Start of the 5 km walk.
• 5:45 PM: Start of the 5 km run.
• 5:47 PM: Start of the 1.6 km Familie-milen.
• Approx. 6:45 PM: Prize ceremony.

Prices and registration

• Children ages 0–8: DKK 40.
• Children and young people ages 9–15: DKK 65.
• Participants ages 16 and over: DKK 90.

Your age on race day determines your age group. The registration deadline is Sunday, November 29, 2026, at 11:59 PM. The event is limited to 400 participants.

Late registration is available from November 30 until half an hour before the start for an additional fee of DKK 25.

Prizes and charity

All participants are entered into a prize draw with prizes from BROEN's shops, restaurants, cinema and fitness center. Trophies are awarded to the best-dressed or most imaginative team and to the best-dressed or most imaginative girl, boy, woman and man. The largest team also receives a trophy. All children up to and including age 12 receive medals.

DKK 5,000 will be awarded to charity at the race. Applications for this donation should be sent to jd@broenshopping.dk.

Practical information

The race is not suitable for prams or strollers, as the route includes stairs in BROEN Shopping. There are no changing or shower facilities.

After the race, you can enjoy some festive time with friends. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

Withdrawal and cancellation

If a participant is unable to attend, they are not entitled to a refund. This also applies if the event is canceled due to force majeure. The organizer may cancel the event if there are too few registrations, no later than two weeks before the event date. The organizer is not liable for any direct or indirect losses incurred by a participant as a result.
