Den Kampmannske Gaard

Den Kampmannske Gaard in Storegade is a stately merchant´s house with a large complex of side and rear buildings, of whichs the most important still remain. The main building itself stems from 1781, but underwent extensive conversion quite soon after, in 1798-1890. It was then the house assumed its present appearance. Mikkel Stobberup was the master builder on that occasion and the house is considered as being an outstanding representative of "Varde classicism".
