Drude Østergaard Studio

Drude Østergaard has been painting since 1996 and began painting and exhibiting in earnest in 2007. From 2018 to 2022, she lived and worked on Bornholm, where the landscape and surroundings had a significant influence on the way she works.

In her works, Drude Østergaard takes inspiration from nature as she experiences it. Feelings and moods during the creative process help shape her choice of colours and subjects.

The process itself plays a central role in her work, with room for contemplation, play and spontaneity.

On her walks, she finds inspiration in flowers, trees, trickling water, waves, wind and rain, among other things. These impressions are expressed through her choice of colours and subjects, with the aim of creating images that invite calm and contemplation.

Drude Østergaard calls her works dream images or self-images because they reflect her own experiences and emotions.

She also runs courses in visionary painting and works with the concept “Paint Your Emotions”, where participants paint their own self-image, among other things.

Drude Østergaard is a member of the art network for Møn and South Zealand and has exhibited at various locations in Denmark.
