Ejby Ådal – a dramatic river valley overlooking the Isefjord
Ejby Ådal is a striking natural area by the Isefjord, where landscapes shaped by the Ice Age meet rich plant and animal life. The area attracts nature lovers, walkers and cyclists seeking variety, scenic views and tranquillity. Here, steep slopes, river valley and fjord come together in one cohesive nature experience.

As you follow the edge of the slopes, the landscape opens up with wide views across the Isefjord. The steep sides were formed during the Ice Age some 12,000–15,000 years ago, and the lime-rich springs create favourable growing conditions for many flowers, including several rare species. The area therefore appeals both to botanical enthusiasts and to those who simply enjoy varied natural scenery.
Experiences along the valley
Ejby Ådal offers more than just views. Along the way, visitors may encounter a beach, grazing cattle, seasonal mushrooms and a bronze sculpture of a seal. The Fjord Trail runs through the area, making it easy to combine walking and cycling with constant views of the fjord.
Suggested walking route
A popular route begins at the car park on Kyndeløse Strandevej. From here, the path follows the valley past the Troldbykællingestenen, a stone linked to local folklore. The walk continues up the slope, offering views towards Inderbredningen, Dejligheden and the island of Orø. The route can be adapted, either by returning the same way or by creating a circular walk. Explore the area and adjust the walk to suit your pace and energy.
