Gyrstinge Village Hostel
Right in the middle of Zealand, between Ringsted and Sorø, you can stay at Gyrstinge Hostel for an affordable price.
Maybe you've attended a wedding or confirmation nearby and want to stay overnight before heading home. Or perhaps you're on a hiking or cycling trip and need just one night. But why not stay a few days? Close to all the shopping opportunities in Ringsted and Sorø, Gyrstinge offers a unique village environment with plenty of options for experiences and nature trips.
You can also rent the hall and host a sports weekend or vacation with family and friends. The hall features 3 badminton courts, 1 slightly shortened handball court with barriers, 2 volleyball courts, and more.
Gyrstinge Hostel offers bright, new rooms. There's no porter, reception, or gold on the faucets. But it's neat and clean, the location is ideal, and the prices are right.
Gyrstinge Hostel is part of the Village House-Gyrstinge, which includes a sports hall, fitness center, party rooms, meeting rooms, and other facilities available by arrangement.
Outdoors, the beautiful nature offers great opportunities for hiking and running. The Great and Small Beech Forests are about 1 km away, but a walk of about three hours around Gyrstinge Lake is also recommended. There is also an opportunity to swim in Haraldsted Lake, about 5 km from the Village House.
If you're eager to explore the area further, Central Zealand offers many other exciting attractions that can be reached by bike. Within reasonable distance are Bjernede Round Church, the only round church on Zealand, the Tramway Museum at Skjoldnæsholm, and not far from there is Gyldenløves Høj, the second-highest point on Zealand. In Ringsted, you can visit, among other things, the northernmost medieval brick church, Sct. Bendts Church, and Zealand's only factory outlet center. You can learn more about tourist opportunities based on Gyrstinge on the hostel's website: www.vandrerhjem.gyrstinge.dk.
Meals can be prepared in the kitchenette, or you can rent the large, well-equipped communal kitchen. Shopping can be done at 'Den nye købmand' just around the corner, or at the organic farm shop at Krogagergård, 3 km away, where you can also see the animals. There are plenty of opportunities for a rain-proof holiday or weekend. More information can be found on the website or by calling the hosts at +45 4244 5523.
