Hedo's Bageri in Lohals

Behind the bakery are Dorte and Helle, who have won several medals for their delicious bread, including in 2015 Hedo's Bakery won the award for Denmark's best speciality bread in the competition "Denmark's best bread and cakes".

Helle and Dorte place great emphasis on baking from scratch using good ingredients, and they have created their own guarantee stamp to assure customers of the quality.

Æblehygge

Æblehygge at Hedo's Bageri: Press your own apple juice!
Bring the family to Æblehygge at Hedo's Bageri on Sunday October 13th 13-16. Here you can press your own apples and make fresh, delicious apple juice. Enjoy a cosy afternoon with the smell of apples, where you can also buy coffee and cake. Come and enjoy a wonderful autumn experience with the taste of apples and togetherness.

 

Easter egg hunt

Easter egg hunt at Hedo's Bageri: A fun hunt for the whole family!
On Good Friday from 13:00-15:00, Hedo's Bakery invites you to an Easter egg hunt in their cosy garden. Bring the kids along and help find the many colourful Easter eggs hidden all around. There's excitement and fun for the whole family, and of course you can enjoy delicious Easter-inspired cakes and pastries afterwards. A perfect way to celebrate Easter on Langeland!

Christmas parlour

Christmas parlour at Hedo's Bageri: Christmas spirit and treats!
Get into the Christmas spirit at Hedo's Bakery's Christmas parlour on the 2nd Sunday of Advent from 13-16. Here you can enjoy hot mulled wine and apple slices, and you can decorate your own gingerbread. You can also buy delicious cookies to take home. Bring your family and friends for a cosy afternoon filled with Christmas spirit and treats at the bakery in Lohals.

A bakery with history

Lohals has the oldest functioning bakery in the country, established in 1904 as a steam bakery specialising in rye bread. There was also a small patisserie where holidaymakers in the harbour town could enjoy a cup of coffee with delicious cakes. But it was the production of rye bread that was the mainstay.

Many holidaymakers would bring rye bread back to the town. This tradition is still followed by the current owners Dorte and Helle, the HEDO bakery, but many new elements have been added to the shelves.

When Queen Margrethe visited Lohals in 2008, she stopped by the old bakery on Kaptajn Kaasvej.
