LIS WESSBERG feat. VERONIKA RUD

New Nordic jazz with depth, presence and sonic poetry
Trombonist Lis Wessberg and vocalist Veronika Rud come together in a sensuous musical universe where the melancholy of jazz, Nordic lyricism and improvisation merge. Drawing on Wessberg's cinematic and atmospheric compositions, the two artists create a musical expression that moves between the intimate and the expressive – the fragile and the powerful.
Lis Wessberg has been a prominent figure in Danish jazz for many years and has earned acclaim for her releases with the band Yellow Map. The albums Yellow Map (2021) and Twain Walking (2024) both received five-star reviews in Denmark and internationally. Her warm, expressive trombone playing combines inspiration from Miles Davis and Chet Baker with modern soundscapes in the style of Talk Talk.
Veronika Rud is an Aarhus-based singer and composer, known for her warm vocals, strong presence and her ability to bring together melancholy and playfulness. Her debut EP from 2024 has attracted considerable attention and been in regular rotation on P8 Jazz. In her collaboration with Wessberg, she adds a new vocal dimension to the sonic universe.
On stage, they are backed by:

- Jeppe Gram – drums
Together, they create a concert experience with melodic trombone lines, expressive vocal storytelling and an atmosphere ranging from intimately lyrical to intensely captivating.
