Sleep with the lake as your neighbour

The shelter is peacefully located on the western side of Lyngager Lake and has space for 6–8 people. Here, you get a simple and atmospheric base in the heart of nature, where the calm surface of the lake and the open landscape set the scene for your stay.

The shelter cannot be booked in advance but is available on a first come, first served basis, making it ideal for spontaneous trips and short stays. A similar shelter can be found on the eastern side of the lake if this one is occupied.

A landscape shaped by the past

Lynghøjsøerne is a 96-hectare public recreational nature area, developed in the former Svogerslev gravel pit. The area features three lakes, each with its own character, and offers varied nature experiences throughout the year.

At the western lake, you will find a bathing beach, bathing jetties, shelters, a picnic shelter and a dog forest, while the central lake has a more rugged appearance with steep slopes and good conditions for flora and wildlife. There is space here for both tranquillity, activity and immersion.

Swimming and outdoor life

There are excellent swimming opportunities in the gravel pit lake close to the shelter, and on warm days the area is a popular place for a refreshing dip. Please note that the lake is deep. The surrounding paths invite walks, runs and short excursions, and the area is suitable for both day trips and primitive overnight stays with a focus on outdoor life.

Easy access to beautiful nature experiences

The area has three car parks, with the nearest located approximately 300 metres from the shelter at the southernmost car park on Lyngageren.

  • Lynghøjsøerne is also well connected to major routes in the area.
  • The Panoramic Route, cycle route 430, is located about 1 km away.
  • The Skjoldung Trails and the Danish Pilgrimage Route can be reached approximately 1.7 km from the shelter, where the routes cross Lindenborgvej at Åbrinken.

This makes the shelter an ideal stop on both walking and cycling trips.
