Middelfart Museum

Local and Psychiatric History in Middelfart
Middelfart Museum is a local museum that preserves the history of Middelfart Municipality — with a special focus on Danish psychiatric history at MIND.
The museum spans five different exhibition venues. Throughout the year, it organizes seasonal activities and cultural history walks with local guides.
Every year from May through October, Middelfart Museum presents a temporary exhibition exploring a theme from Middelfart's local history.
The museum café is named after Inga Jørgensen, who ran a guesthouse at Grimmerhus for many years. The café is furnished with pieces donated by Inga Jørgensen, and coffee is served in the original blue-painted porcelain used during the guesthouse years.
Our talented café team bakes fresh cakes every day — some of them straight from Inga Jørgensen's original recipes.
The shop carries a wide selection of old-fashioned toys, books, posters, maps, postcards, and textiles. You'll also find a large range of items for children, with a focus on Danish design.
Every year from late November to mid-December, the Gingerbread City comes to life.
The Annual Christmas Exhibition
Each year, a small Christmas exhibition accompanies the Middelfart Gingerbread City.
