The Nature School at Maribo Søndersø is a unique base for nature experiences, outdoor education and school camp stays in the heart of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park. With its exceptional location right on the lakeshore and access to eight hectares of public natural areas, it is one of the few places in the nature park where visitors can get close to the lake’s rich wildlife and plant life.

Children, young people and adults can experience nature up close through activities, learning and shared experiences. The Nature School is particularly well suited for educational programmes focusing on nature, the environment, biology and outdoor life, where the classroom is moved into the open air. The area surrounding Maribo Søndersø offers excellent opportunities to explore the lake landscape, observe birdlife and gain insight into the region’s natural and cultural history.

Accommodation facilities make it possible to arrange both short and extended stays. As a result, the Nature School is a popular destination for school camps, themed days and educational programmes, allowing participants to immerse themselves in nature while strengthening social bonds through shared activities.

As part of the stay, Maribo Lakes Nature Park offers educational activities led by a nature guide. The guide introduces visitors to the area's unique natural values and organises activities for both children and adults.

The Nature School primarily serves primary and lower secondary schools but is also used by daycare institutions, upper secondary education programmes and adult education groups. For groups wishing to combine learning, nature experiences and community, the Nature School at Maribo Søndersø is an ideal starting point for exploring the Maribo Lakes Nature Park.

The Nature School and its surrounding grounds are owned by Lolland Municipality, which is responsible for the operation of the buildings, outdoor areas, accommodation and educational activities.
