The North Zealand Vintage Train

The North Zealand Vintage train offers train rides on different routes several times a year. You can ride with various locomotives that have both open and closed carriages. It is also possible to book vintage trains for different festive events or as an alternative mode of transport on your vacation.

The North Zeland Vintage Train offers unique experiences and has train rides several times a year.

Ride in the open forest carriages where you can feel life and enjoy the scent of the steam locomotive, forest, and fields. Try a trip with the railbus on wooden benches that remind you of times gone by, straight out of a Morten Korch film.

See the workshops and go behind the scenes

You can visit the workshops in Græsted, where the volunteer train enthusiasts restore and maintain the vintage trains throughout the year.

Wedding, company party, or transportation to your destination

Create a unique festive experience. Entire events can be held on the vintage train. You can also book it as a means of transport, for example, to dine at Marienlyst Strandhotel, Louisiana, or other places.

It is also for children

Once a year on the annual Children's Day, the trains are disguised as living trains and everything in the shed is focused on children.

More experiences in North Zealand

In North Zealand, you step into the National Park Kongernes Nordsjælland. This means enriching nature, beautiful cycling routes, lovely beaches along the Danish Riviera, and much more. Take the kids on a fun trip to Frederiksborg Castle, where they can learn about Denmark's history - what was it like to grow up as a king? They can dress up as royalty or learn to write with a quill pen. Want to stay a little longer? See the many unique accommodation options nearby.

Nordsjællands Veteran Train is run by volunteers

The people who act as staff on the trains and who restore and maintain the material work voluntarily. Therefore, all proceeds from the rides go towards maintaining and thus ensuring the preservation of the material Nordsjællands Veteran Train owns.

In 1992, the foundation for the Operation of Nordsjællands Veteran Train was established. To appear as an integrated whole, the club changed its name in the fall of 1995 to Nordsjællands Railway Club. Nordsjællands Railway Club today has about 350 supporting members and about 100 active members. Over the years, these members have spent many hundreds of thousands of working hours both in the workshops and at home with board work, membership magazines, and special train planning.
