Østerild

The village of Østerild in Thy came seriously on the map of Denmark with the establishment of the National Test Center for large wind turbines in Østerild Plantation.

Østerild and surroundings is an active and vibrant community with 840 inhabitants.

Østerild is especially known for having the world's largest pepper mill, located at the eastern entrance to the city. Another of Østerild's landmarks is the water tower. When you enter the city, you immediately see the two mini models of the water tower.

The National Test Center for Offshore Wind Turbines in Østerild Plantation is located just outside the village
