Rådhusparken in Aarhus
Rådhusparken was brought when the Aarhus city hall was build in 1942. The architects behind city hall Arkitekterne Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller, had a vision of also having a garden and park by the city hall.
A green pause in central Aarhus
Rådhusparken lies between Frederiks Allé, Aarhus City Hall and Park Allé, making it an easy stop while you explore central Aarhus.
The intimate park offers green lawns and planted areas in the middle of the busy city centre. During summer, it is a popular meeting place for young people and students.
Architecture and green surroundings
Rådhusparken forms part of the setting around Aarhus City Hall, designed by Danish architects Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller. The park and City Hall were listed together in 1995.
The combination of architecture and green space makes Rådhusparken a natural stop on a walk through the city centre.
From everyday park life to cultural events
At selected times, Rådhusparken becomes a venue for cultural activities. The park has hosted events during Aarhus Festival and Culture Night, as well as performances, exhibitions and occasional concerts.
On other days, the lawns and paths offer space for a short walk or a quiet break between visits to nearby attractions such as ARoS and Musikhuset Aarhus.
