Self-guided Walk to Christianshavn and Christiania (Cont.)

Right past Christiania's “Prairie Gate”, you will find the Info Caféen, a great shop offering arts and crafts from a variety of Christiania workshops. The same building also houses the Spiseloppen restaurant, the Gallopperiet art gallery, and Loppen, one of the city’s most intimate live music venues.Exploring the communityTurn right and continue down “Pusher Street”. On your left, you will see Den Grå Hall (the Grey Hall), a popular multi-purpose venue featuring concerts, all-night parties, and Christmas markets. Further down the street, also on your left, you will see Fabrikken, a building housing an assembly hall and a cinema. Turn left here and proceed down to Kvindesmedien, a shop and workshop run by three women artists. Their creations include unique interior designs made of steel and iron. Just across the street, you will find the Cykelværkstedet bicycle workshop, where the much sought-after Christiania bikes are made. The Månefiskeren, situated right behind the bicycle workshop, is a relaxed no-alcohol café with a pro-pot policy. Turn left down Langgaden. This street features the Indkøberen grocery shop and the Morgenstedet veggie eatery. When you reach the Buddhist Stupa, turn right and continue through the idyllic residential areas on to Voldgraven (the Defensive Moat) and the Dyssebroen bridge. Turn right and follow the paths along the moat back to Torvegade, from where you can catch bus no. 2A back to the Central Station and the Town Hall Square.
