S/S Bjørn

S/S Bjørn is one of the last steamships in Denmark still in operation, and during the summer months you can join an exciting sailing trip along the coast. The sailing is usually on the first Sunday of the month.

S/S Bjørn has previously sailed as an icebreaker and tugboat in Randers Harbor and fjord, and remains as it was when it was launched in Bremerhafen in 1909, only with some changes due to modern maritime rules and safety requirements. A sailing trip with S/S Bjørn is therefore a very special experience of a technology that we no longer use in shipping.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to assist the stokers in firing the boiler, or to help the captain steer the ship. You will also have access to the ship's saloon and crew quarters.
