Langelandsbanen railway

Spodsbjerg Station was built in 1911 as one of the terminus stations on the Langelands railway. Like all other buildings on the Langelands railway, Spodsbjerg Station was designed by Helge Bojsen Møller (1874-1946). The station was a transfer point for ferry travellers. In the summer, bathing trains travelled from Rudkøbing to Spodsbjerg every day. Quite often there were seven or eight carriages with bathers and the carriages were disconnected and used for changing. At the end of the day, they were then taken back to Rudkøbing.

Spodsbjerg station closed in 1962.
