In spring and autumn you can experience the bats' journey in and out of the pits where they hibernate. You can also learn about the exciting stories of witches, lime workers and the infamous robber Jens Langkniv - Jutland's own Robin Hood.

History, bats and underground adventures

Daugbjerg Limestone Mine allows you to step back in history and get a unique insight into life underground. The bats that hibernate here are a major attraction, but the pits also offer a wealth of stories about everything from the lives of lime workers to the myths of witches and robbers. Walk through the illuminated mine tunnels and feel the wings of history.

Nature in Dybdalskov and troll hunting for the little ones

Once you've explored the mines, you can continue the adventure in the protected Dybdal Forest that surrounds the area. The forest is known for its rare species of ferns and mosses, and with a bit of luck you may also spot rare animals like field lizards. In the forest you'll find Skovhytten, which houses a cosy café and kiosk where you can relax with a cup of coffee. For the kids, you can go troll hunting in the forest - a free and fun experience for the whole family.
