Day of the (Odense) Fiord
Every year on the second Sunday in September Fjordens Dag attracts more than 20,000 visitors for a day filled with nature experiences and activities around Odense Fjord. It is a chance for both adults and children to get closer to life in and around the fjord and meet the many associations and organisations that use and help protect the area.

Experience Fjordens Dag at Odense Fjord
Every year on the second Sunday in September, Odense Fjord comes alive when Fjordens Dag takes place. More than 150 associations, institutions and individuals contribute to the event with activities focusing on nature, the environment, health and cultural history.
Activities are spread across four main locations around the fjord: Stige Ø, Seden Strandby, Klintebjerg and Boels Bro near Munkebo Bakke. There are also several other places to visit, giving you the opportunity to experience the fjord from different perspectives.
Get closer to nature and life in the fjord
Fjordens Dag is a great opportunity to explore nature for yourself. The programme changes from year to year, but the activities typically invite both adults and children to discover the fjord's wildlife and plant life and try a variety of outdoor activities.
At Klintebjerg, for example, visitors have been able to explore life beneath the surface in aquariums and through microscopes, wade into the fjord with underwater viewers and go crab fishing. Activities have also included building bird boxes and taking a boat trip to Vigelsø.
Fjordens Dag in Odense
In Odense, you can visit activities at Stige Ø and Seden Strandby, both part of the larger event around the fjord. The wide range of activities makes Fjordens Dag a great opportunity to experience Odense Fjord in a different way while learning more about the area's nature and environment.
Fjordens Dag takes place on the second Sunday in September, and participation is free. Activities and locations may vary from year to year. See the current programme at fjordensdag.dk.
