Grenen in Skagen
Denmark's northernmost point where the two seas the Skagerrak and Kattegat meet.
It’s fascinating to reach “land’s end”, this you can experience at Grenen, the very tip of the headland at Skagen Odde - one of the most visited places in Denmark.
Here you can stand with a foot in each sea.
You get out to Grenen by the tractor-pulled “Sandormen” busses, or by walking from the car park at Grenen Art Museum.
If you choose to walk, it takes you past Holger Drachmann’s grave, the poet who gave us Midsommervisen (Midsummer Song) and Erindring (Reminiscence), which has become Skagen’s “national anthem”.
If you wish to explore Grenen further, several hiking trails go from the car park. From the car park at Grenen there are four walking trails, one of which is paved and suitable for bicycles, wheelchairs and prams. The trails take you around all the sights of Grenen.
