A lively shopping street full of experiences

Strøget in Aarhus stretches from Banegårdspladsen to the Cathedral and offers everything from popular high street shops and department stores to small specialty shops and design stores. The street is bustling with life from morning to night and is a natural part of Aarhus city life.

In the middle of Strøget is the iconic Salling department store, where you will find fashion, beauty, home design and a popular rooftop with views of the city. Salling is an experience in itself and an obvious stop on your shopping trip.

Opening hours and life throughout the year

Most shops on Strøget are open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays many are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Opening hours may vary, especially around public holidays and sales periods, but the street is always lively – both on weekdays and weekends.

Along Strøget, you can take a break at a café, look at street art or just enjoy the atmosphere among locals and visitors. And when the shops close, the city's restaurants, bars and cultural life take over.

Close to the city's culture and history

Along Strøget, you will pass several of Aarhus' landmarks, including Store Torv and Aarhus Cathedral. The street connects the city's shopping area with the Latin Quarter, Aarhus Å and several of the city's museums and attractions.
